Concept of Lowering Springs

Lowering springs not only improve the looks of your car, but also its handling by limiting the roll of the chassis. With Cobra Suspension lowering springs, we aim for an OE-comfort character, but combined with the driving characteristics you can expect from lowering springs. Progressive Springs

Cobra Suspension uses the manufacturer's original design as our reference design. In most cases, the original springs of a modern car already have a progressive effect. We optimize this design even further when lowering a car. In some cases, we choose to give a spring two spring rates, a so-called 'dual-rate'. These are actually two linear springs, which, in addition to the original progressive effect of the original spring, work separately from each other. Design Cobra Suspension

The creation of Cobra Suspension lowering springs starts with the analysis of the original springs. We do this by extensively analyzing the original springs. The character of the original springs that come off the test car is assessed and based on this we make sure that we have a good starting point for the lowering springs. By experiencing it ourselves and analyzing the technical data well, we are able to combine elements of the original character with the sportier road handling.

Cobra Suspension Production

After analyzing the original springs and setting up the design of the lowering springs, the production can start with the production of the prototypes. These prototypes are produced according to the same strict requirements as our final series. This enables us to test the products properly and make sure that we can rely on the obtained information. Therefore we use the best coiling machines in the industry. These ensure, thanks to their consistency, that the springs always meet our quality requirements.

Testing of Cobra Suspension Lowering Springs

For each application, we thoroughly test the springs to make sure that the lowering is according to specification. How many cars we need varies per type of car. That can sometimes be four cars, but sometimes also twenty cars. All these cars are thoroughly examined, measured and extensively tested with our lowering springs so that we know how the lowering springs ultimately drive and how much they lower in practice. We apply our knowledge gained from F1, Rally, Dakar, Le Mans and other sports to our street products so that we always meet the requirements of the highest segments.
